The Sandringham Series chessmen are uniquely and sublimely crafted in diminutive proportions from 3 graded hardwoods: ebony, rosewood and boxwood. This ’Tres Corone’ set offers the player three complete colour combination options: ebony and boxwood, rosewood and boxwood, or even rosewood and ebony. These lovely pieces have come from the world’s finest creatures of luxury chessmen and have been made without any compromise on the detail or quality. Identical to their larger cousins, the detailing is simply staggering for chessmen of such small proportions. They also retain the classic Staunton pattern and the uniformity among all the ornaments is as good as it gets.

The superb quality of the finish on the chess pieces has been accomplished by a lengthy polishing process allowing the close, dense grains of the wood to shine through naturally. This permits the most intense detail and sharpness to be retained on every ornament. These exquisite sets are produced in limited numbers, usually just five at a time, with each one being certified and numbered as a genuine Regency Chess Company product.

Combining the highly deep-toned and grained walnut veneers with the beautiful light maple veneers, this board is crafted to exacting dimensions boasting clean lines and a pristine modern look.

From our larger box range, this case is made from Sheesham wood, a deluxe, exotic hardwood with a very mesmerising patterning of the wood. It is also extremely strong and hard-wearing making it perfect for keeping your chess pieces safe for many years. The sliding lid is also constructed from solid Sheesham and has a clever magnetic fixing that keeps the lid firmly in place. The interior is lined with plush deep burgundy fabric providing great protection for your precious chessmen.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
