Despite their moderate price, all of the Down Head Knight range is crafted and finished to an excellent standard. Each piece has been hand polished to a medium gloss finish, creating an excellent but not overstated shine. Ebonisation is used create the black pieces: this is a process that creates the look of real ebony and further strengthens and preserves the wood.

Due to their size, we have matched these Down Head Knight Pieces with our tournament size mahogany and birch chess board from Spain. At 19.7 inches and with its 1.9 inch squares, this stunning Rechapados Ferrerr board is a perfect battle ground for these slightly larger Down Head pieces.

To keep your chess men safe when not in play, we have added a high quality fabric bag in a lovely royal blue. Drawstrings will keep the pieces together.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
