The Down Head design is a classic carving that we have sold for years. These particular chess men are created from Acacia wood, which is, you will be pleased to learn, more sustainable and less regulated than Sheesham. Acacia is a beautiful grainy wood not too dissimilar to Sheesham, maybe slightly lighter in hue.

As with all our Down Head range, these Acacia editions are a lovely set of weighted chess men made to our usual exacting high standard. They all come with thick green billiard cloths as standard and they sit, perfectly on a beautiful Greek creation in the walnut and maple. Best know for their expertise in marquetry, Manopoulos also produce a range of lovely chess boards, some of which we have added to Regency Chess board range.
