There is always conflict in the world and here is a light-hearted take on the age old game of battle strategies fought out by our favourite household pets.

We have had fun here at Regency Chess trying to identify the various breeds of dog involved. We believe the Great Dane leads the pack as the noble king along with a spaniel as his queen. We have picked out a Pug, an Alsatian and little Westies posing as the pawns.

Whilst the cats have proved to be much more of challenge to identify, they certainly do not lack in detail. If you recognise any, we would love to hear from you.

Both sides are adorned in beautifully ornate, aristocratic-style dress with the rooks being depicted as miniature castles.
