Our Sandringham Tres Corone 2.5 inch (63 mm) Chessmen fashioned in three graded hardwoods – red sandalwood, ebony and boxwood – are matched with this beautiful Italian chess board finished in olive erable burl and maple.

Three chess piece combinations are offered – ebony and boxwood, red sandalwood and boxwood, or even red sandalwood and ebony. These chessmen have come from the one of world’s finest creators of luxury chess pieces and have been made to exacting standards. Identical to their larger brothers in the series, the detailing is simply staggering for chessmen of such small proportions – something that can be truly appreciated from our product photographs.

This mesmerising erable board in dark olive is coated in a very high gloss lacquer which promotes the wood grain and knotting of the burl to something quite magical. The inlaid veneer squares are bordered with a thin veneer of redwood that sections off the playing area from the edge. The underside of the board features a lacquered wooden veneer and has felting pads to protect surfaces underneath.
