The chessmen are classic Staunton and have hand turned and hand carved to exacting standards. The quality of the chessmen is extremely fine with extremely accurate carvings. Each piece has been carefully weighted in the base for perfect balance, something you will fully appreciate when you begin to move the pieces around the board. These chessmen are crafted from solid boxwood and are Ebonised, a process that creates a realistic ebony effect. These chessmen are supplied in branded packaging.

The board has been selected from Europe’s premier manufacture of chess boards for its design, high gloss finish and see elegance. The wooden veneered border feature rich tones of reds and vivid grain with a magical contrast between the black Anegre and light maple squares. The board measures just under 19 inches across and is supplied in cardboard packaging. A combination of extremely high quality pieces and a highly distinctive board make this set highly desirable.

The chess board in this set has been expertly crafted by Rechapados Ferrer in Spain using precision laser cutting techniques and stunning wooden veneers combined with expert lacquering and finishing. The underside of the board is finished in a satin veneer that is a different colour from the playing surface of the board. The veneers used for the underside may vary in colour from batch to batch.
