Each piece is constructed from one section of wood and is subsequently strong and robust. This process ensures that every chess piece in this set will last for generations rather than just a few years.
Despite their modest price, all of the Down Head Knight range is crafted and finished to an excellent standard. Each piece has been hand polished to a medium gloss finish, creating an excellent but not overstated shine. The black pieces are ebonised: a process that creates the look of real ebony and further strengthens and preserves the wood.


These chess men will sit perfectly on our 17 inch (45 cm) and larger chess boards, and are also available in smaller sizes of 3 inches (76 mm) and 2.5 inches (63 mm).
